X-NATION MODERN ROCK SPOTLIGHT: JOHN HUGHES - Janurary 14, 2000 KKSM-AM 1320

 When I was in college, the goal was to be a radio disc jockey.  I got to live my dream (and it's STILL the dream to this day), and have a couple of radio shows where I got to pretty much play what I want (and a talk show where I got away with virtual murder on the air).  I wanted to keep a record of my radio career---both collegiate AND professional---and did.  I hosted a show called "The X-Nation", which was pretty much a play on Generation X, and the music that was a part of my generation's lifespan.  What I did with these shows was often times, I'd have what I called the "Modern Rock Spotlight".  What I did was spotlight a specific band, artist, or subject matter.  This happened to be one of them.  Most EVERYONE in my generation grew up on the teenage movies from writer/director/producer John Hughes.  This was the music that permeated the soundtracks of some of our favorite movies.  For this "flashback Friday" portion of your holiday weekend, I present to you the music of our youth.  And for those of you new to this stuff--welcome!  I hope you enjoy this list, and go out and get the music!  Anyway, please leave some comments and subscribe.  I'll be doing more random fun stuff like this later on:
