THE FLASH - Season 5.21

THE FLASH - SEASON 5, EP. 21: "The Girl With The Red Lightning"

The Monarch of Motion is speeding into a final climactic battle with Cicada, as she plans to use her new weapon to destroy every metahuman on the planet, meanwhile, we see what the final fate of Eobard Thawne is in 2049, and can Nora still be of some help to the team before Cicada’s final act?

We are in 2049, as we see the clock by Eobard’s cell tick off the final seconds.  The warden then comes in, all too happy to make sure Eobard knows it’s his time to go.  And just to rub salt into the wound, he gives Thawne a little jolt for good measure---just to let him know that it’s over.  The execution of The Reverse Flash is about to happen.

We jump back in time to see Grace putting the final touches on the stolen Atomizer, while the spirit of Uncle Orlen is in her head, feeding into her rage even more, telling her it’s time to finish it---and cement their legacy.

At STAR Labs, Caitlin is explaining to the team how the Atomizer works.  They discuss that the only option is making as much of the cure as they can, and give it to any meta in the city who wishes to take it.  Cisco is also testing the weapon Nora procured from McCulloch Industries.  They figure out the best place to give the cure is the CCPD.  Joe and Cecile go to appeal to Captain Singh.  Once there, Singh is a bit reluctant at first, but sees that it’s the only way.  He says he’ll take it up at City Hall, but if he gets the green light, Joe’s in charge.

Sherloque bumps into Rene Adler.  They discuss how he knows she’s a metahuman, and before he can get her safe, Cicada appears, ready to deliver the death knell.  Sherloque sends out a distress signal.  The team is on the way.  Nora is still connected with her psychically, and takes off with her dad to help out…she’s still got a little red lightning with her.
They go after Cicada, only to have missed her, but not before Cicada took off with yet another piece for her weapon.  Barry and Nora case the scene.  Rene and Sherloque talk about her power, and she admits seeing how Cicada wanted to kill her.  Sherloque tells her there’s a way she can get rid of her power.  Meanwhile, Barry, Iris, and Nora realize that the red lighting Nora still has isn’t from Nora’s anger---it’s from Grace’s because they’re psychically connected.  Nora thinks she can use this ability to help them find Cicada before it’s too late.  Barry and Iris flat out refuse.

We shift gears to the CCPD where Joe is doing is best to coordinate the incoming metas and the vaccinations.  There’s then a TV story about Iris’ paper releasing a story about Cicada and her plans.  Cecile’s powers detect panic in the crowd, and prepares Joe---they’re about to get slammed!

As the team discusses their next move, Ralph comes in with a board, looking to discuss his theory with the team, who really want none of it, but he gets them to listen, and makes a valid point.  He asks Nora about where this conduit Cicada has can be had in 2049.  Turns out, it’s from an old college roommate of Cisco’s named Sebastian, with whom he’s not real fond of.  Moreso, Ralph discusses the discrepencies in the timeline from when Nora arrived, the identity of Cicada going from David Hersch to Orlen Dwyer.  Something isn’t adding up to him.  They find out where Sebastian’s company is, and Flash is off to retrieve the conduit.  He tells Nora to stay behind.  Unfortunately, as he arrives, he’s come across a bomb rigged to explode.  He escapes barely, but Cicada has the conduit.

Frustrations are building for the team, and as much as Ralph pushes his theory on the team, Barry just wants to focus on destroying the Atomizer.  Nora suggests trying to psychically connect with Grace again, but her parents forbid it.  She then heads into Caitlin’s lab to find the mind device that she used to connect with Killer Frost, and uses it.

At the CCPD, we see Joe overwhelmed with all the decisions he has to make, and the overload is overbearing for him AND his officers.

Nora is tapping into Grace’s mind, but the lighting is striking out of control.  An alert goes off, and Barry and Iris race to her.  Barry manages to save her and gets Caitlin’s device off her head.  Nora’s out cold.

Nora wakes up, and Iris explains to her that she nearly had an aneurysm.  Nora does NOT want to sit on the sidelines, and wants to help.  She tells her parents that she IS an adult, capable of making her own decisions.  She looks to her dad, and tells him that he taught her HOW to be a hero…so let her BE one.  They finally relent.

Joe can’t seem to handle the situation all that well, and takes off.  Cecile is in tow, and privately explains to her that he just is NOT cut out for this type of situation, where everyone is freaked out, getting antsy, and scared.  Cecile reminds him of all the times he’s had to deal with situations regarding those in his charge, and with his own family.  That he always speaks from the heart, and it manages to get through.  She tells him that if he applies that to this situation, it’ll work.

Sherloque, who had taken Rene to the CCPD to get the cure, bailed out when things got frantic.  They have a chat, and she explains that she likes her powers, and doesn’t want to get rid of them, and is ready for anything that’s thrown at her.  Sherloque offers yet another solution:  breach her to HIS Earth until the Cicada situation is resolved.  She’s unaware of the multiverse, so it will work in their favor.  He tells her that once he’s done on this Earth, he’ll head home.  He opens the breach, and off she goes.

Barry and Iris agree to let Nora connect with Grace again, but this time in a more controlled environment.  They use the trap they set for the Reverse Flash in Season 1 as a way to control the lightning, should it get out of control.  Nora connects, and begins searching for Grace.  We see that Nora has connected with Grace.  But not in Grace’s mind…Nora’s.  Grace blames Nora and her family for everything that’s happened…the particle accelerator accident, the Enlightenment, and she’s going to kill everyone to put an end to it.  Nora tells her that she’s going to have to carry that anger the rest of her life, but it’s on HER and HER alone.  Nora DOES manage to find out that Cicada is heading to the CCPD.  Cicada shows up at the CCPD, and drains everyone’s powers---now the Atomizer is charged and ready to go.

The team arrives at the station, and take down Cicada.  Cisco gets isolated with the Atomizer, as he tries to disarm it, with the knife stuck in the top of it.  They do manage to separate Cicada from the dagger, but she proclaims that she never needed it.  She blasts Flash, and he’s incapacitated.  Her, Killer Frost, and Ralph jump into a fight with each other.  Cisco does succeed in deactivating the device.  It’s at this point that Ralph sees that the gun is pointed at the dagger and the Atomizer, ready to be destroyed.  It’s here where Ralph suddenly puts all the pieces together.  He figured out the master plan…and that plan belonged to Eobard Thawne himself.  He put everything into motion…including getting Cicada back to the past.  The Dagger’s energy isn’t just dark matter---it’s got Negative Speed Force power in it.  So, if it’s destroyed, it will trigger power BACK into Eobard Thawne, thus freeing him.  Just as Flash is about to shoot the dagger Cisco tossed his way, Ralph urges them NOT to shoot it.

______________________________________________

Well!  How’s THAT for a well laid plan?!  When is a villain NOT a villain?!  Eobard once again shows just how crafty a bastard he is, by using Cicada from the future to find a way to get his powers back and free himself---and Nora was his pawn the whole time.  You have to admit—the writers did a fabulous job of making Eobard Thawne out to be a man on Death Row…powerless, and going to die, look sympathetic…and even appear to help the daughter of The Flash….all to put his well crafted plan into place.  That’s freaking genius.  See…I’m pretty sure all of you were on the same page as ME.  NOT truly buying what Thawne was selling…always knowing in the back of our minds NOT to trust the man, and sure enough, thanks to Ralph, who had paid attention to detail when he and Iris were in the future, put the puzzle together, and saw Thawne’s Master Plan.  But the question is:  Is it too late?  Are we destined for another round of Flash v. Reverse Flash?  I’m all for it if that’s where we’re headed, because I enjoy nothing more than a super speed battle.  That would leave Cicada to be Nora’s arch enemy…and maybe it’s Nora who takes her down.  Either way, I hope we get some serious fighting in this season finale next week…I’ll be disappointed if we don’t.

Hey…is it just been ME, or has Barry looked like milquetoast to Cicada all season.  Seems like Flash has come off as a weak hero all season.  Like he’s gotten his ass handed to him a time or two.  If we do get Barry and Eobard duking it out---I wanna see Barry on equal par with him, toe to toe, pace for pace.  Flash has looked too weak this season…let’s clean that up, shall we?
Nora being psychically connected with Grace could prove to be the undoing of Cicada if we’re lucky…I think it will be a big deal in their final battle.  Plus, I liked that Nora finally told her parents how it is.  While she’s been grateful for the time, and the learning experience, with them, she’s still and adult, and she wants to see this through.  So good for her for stepping up.

It was sweet to see Sherloque save his lady love---let’s just hope we don’t lose another Welles like we did in Season 3.  We need some sweetness to come out of this mess.

First time in what I would imagine is a LONG time that we’ve seen Joe this rattled in ANY situation.  The man is the rock of this team, and he struggled this episode.  Thankfully, Cecile got him back on the right path.  I love that woman.

And yes…one final congrats to Ralph for using his exceptional deductive reasoning to put the pieces together.  Should’ve been paying attention to him a little more, eh?

Okay, gang…that’s a wrap for this episode…which was really good.  Things have picked up to a frantic pace…which isn’t unusual for THE FLASH.  Now…will they cross the finish line of this season next week with a great ending to this story?  Let’s hope so!

Always grateful, and please leave comments if you can, and HEY!  Subscribe if you haven’t!

Until our season finale next week….keep on running!

ARROW - Season 7.21

ARROW – SEASON 7, EP. 21:  “Living Proof”

For Team Arrow, everything has caved in on them this season---both literally and figuratively, and it has tested everyone’s resolve to their proverbial breaking points.  Plus, we’re getting to see the consequences of one Felicity Smoak’s actions, and what impact they have on the future of not just Star City, but of her children and the rest of the Arroverse.

When last we left the team, Emiko and the Ninth Circle had planted a bomb inside a building, and lured Ollie and company into a trap.  She set off the bomb, and buried the team inside a now VERY unstable building.  We open up with Ollie beneath some rubble, trying to recover, get his surroundings, and see if he can get out.  As he assesses his situation, he sees an old friend:  Tommy Merlyn.

Elsewhere in the building, we see Roy recover, and begin to search for the other members of the team, and help them out.  As the rest of the team regroups, they go in search of Ollie.

Felicity and Alena are back at her pad, when they find out there’s been a warrant issued for the team, as the security tape showing Roy killing the two guards was given to them by Emiko, who, of course, covered as an anonymous tip.  They begin ransacking and collecting evidence from Felicity’s computers, and they’re about to arrest Felicity, when she puts her arms around Alena, and sets of a flash bomb, just enough for her and Alena to escape.

Jumping forward in time, we see Felicity observing a Galaxy One commercial with Derek giving this speech about how great the future will be with their new technology.  Her and the kids talk about how to figure out WHO upgraded the ARCHER program for Galaxy One, and find a way to stop it.  Dinah goes to check in on what’s left of the Canaries, and William has a plan he believes would help, but Felicity will have none of it.  She and William argue about why he abandoned her, and she explains that she and Ollie wanted NONE of this for EITHER of their kids.  William won’t budge and walks off.

Checking back in with Ollie, we see Tommy trying to encourage him to escape.  Ollie does manage to free himself, and begins to search for a way out of the room, while talking to Tommy about needing to stop Emiko.  Tommy reminds Ollie that she’s his sister, but Ollie says she stopped being that the minute she started killing people and decided to destroy the city.  Ollie figures out an escape plan, however, Tommy points to his broken quiver and arrows---he’s weaponless.

Ollie and Tommy continue their conversation, and Tommy tries to reason with Ollie about killing Emiko.  He reminds Ollie of how he’s changed over the years, and learned that killing wasn’t the answer.  Ollie is being stubborn at this point, and refuses to see Tommy’s side of things.

Felicity manages to reestablish contact with the team, and they inform her that they’re trying to find Ollie.  Turns out, he’s on the lower level, but it won’t be easy to get down there.  Plus, she informs them how Emiko exposed them by giving the security footage to the SCPD.  They’re screwed.

Ollie, with Tommy’s help, works on an escape plan.  While floors above, the team is debating their situation.  Everything they worked for to get acceptance is now up in smoke, plus, they’re now fugitives for harboring a criminal.  Amidst some arguing, Roy says that he’ll turn himself in---especially if it means saving the team.  Just then, the generators in the building kick in, but that’s a problem, because, as Felicity explains…the slightest spark will set off an explosion.  They’re off to go shut them down.

The team reaches the boiler room where the generators are, but there’s some lethal gas down there, thus anyone attempting to go down there will die.  They have to find another way to get to the generators, which is what Felicity and Alena do back at the Bunker.
Floors below, Ollie and Tommy continue their conversation, and argue about how he’s going to get out, knowing that any explosion could bring the building down on him AND the team.  Ollie makes the attempt, but fails anyway.

Tommy continues to press Ollie about breaking the cycle that his Dad had laid out before him…the situation on the Queen’s Gambit, the Undertaking, Emiko, her mother….it’s an endless loop that Ollie can break.  Ollie rebukes Tommy’s opinion, and says this is just about Emiko.

At the air duct that leads to the generator, they all figure out that they’re not the right size, except maybe Rene or Dinah, to get down there, but Roy sees that it would take too much time, and decides to sacrifice himself for the team.  He heads down to the generators by going through the bad chemicals down there.  It’s a few heartbeats, but the generators go off.  It’s another few beats, before they see Roy reemerge, albeit a tad loopy.

At the Bunker, Alena and Felicity are surprised by Emiko, and starts shooting up the place.  Felicity admits to her that she’s pregnant.  Emiko says that’s good to know and kills the power with an arrow.  When the power’s back on, she’s gone….but she’s cleaned out the place.

Back in the depths of the near collapsed building, Tommy and Ollie continue their talk.  Tommy tries to reason with Oliver that the only way to break the cycle, and escape, is to let go of his past.  Give his kids a clean slate, and not let them pay for the sins of their father, as Ollie has paid for his.  Ollie says his only plan is to stop Emiko.

Roy and Dinah have a talk.  Roy was willing to take the fall, and willing to die, and asked Dinah why didn’t they let him.  Dinah reminds him that they’re a team, and they stand by each other no matter what.

Felicity and Alena try to get reestablished with the team again, and they talk about what happened.  Felicity had HOPED that she could provide a better future for her kids.  Alena convinces her that maybe she needs to get off the grid…it would be the one option she has to give her kids a better life.

William and Mia talk about their mother, and the decisions her and their father made in order to protect them.  All he wanted to do is come home, but Mia said that, while at first, she was pissed that their mother lied to them, but now she understands.  He feels mad that he was abandoned, and Mia tells him to confront her, and be direct.

The team finally reunites, and they end up bumping into Emiko.  Ollie begins to fight her, as the team tries to escape while battling the Ninth Circle.  In the heat of the battle, Ollie shoots Emiko.  Then, inexplicably, each member of the team falls, and dies themselves.  Then…Ollie wakes up, still trapped beneath the rubble we saw him in at the beginning of the episode.  It was all an hallucination.  However, the Tommy aspect of his hallucination is still there, and urges him to use the best parts of himself to escape.

The team is connected back with Felicity, and they continue their search for Oliver.  She also informs them that Emiko paid her a visit, and made off with the team’s arsenal.  She then receives and alert that there are shots fired at the SCPD, and the new Green Arrow has been spotted.

We jump into the future once again, where William has a plan, and goes off to enact it, with a little help.  Felicity also makes contact with the one person she knows that got the ARCHER program up and running for Galaxy One:  Alena.  She had sold it to Galaxy One years ago, because she was threatened that the people she loved would be killed if she didn’t.  She’s willing to help take it down she says, but suddenly, they’re surrounded by armed guards from Galaxy One.

William meets with Kevin Dale, and they talk about the new security measures Galaxy One is incorporating, and William wants to be in on it, since he’s got a stake in the company.  He’s also meeting with Rene.  As Dale takes a personal call, Rene and William talk about being exposed, and William tells him he’s downloaded Galaxy One’s database onto his watch.  Too little, too late, though, as they ARE exposed by Dale, and captured as well.

Ollie does manage to break free of the rubble thanks to the team, and they inform him of what’s going on.  As they leave, Ollie turns back, says goodbye to Tommy, and takes off.  One quick trip to the Bunker, and they’re off to the SCPD, where Emiko has taken the weapon, and she plans on using it to destroy the city.  The team catches up to them, and Ollie confronts Emiko, urging her to stop.  They fight, and she’s put down, where she dares Ollie to kill her.  Ollie refuses.  But that’s just enough distraction that Emiko needs to throw a flash in his direction, in order to aid her escape.  Just as Ollie recovers, Diggle tells him they got company as the police are hot on their trail.  Team Arrow is now the hunted.

_____________________________________________

Another solid episode from the creative team, as we got a great surprise appearance from the (turns out in spirit), Tommy Merlyn to help Ollie on his quest to escape, and work out his issues.  Meanwhile, we see some slight discord in the team when they find out they’re exposed thanks to Emiko, Alena, of all people, telling Felicity to get OFF the grid…and the future plot finally coming it ITS climax, as we begin to tie the bow on Season 7.

Ollie has struggled for the better part of 7 years, his family issues, trust issues, and everything under the sun.  He’s been about as grim as a certain Dark Knight for a guy who calls himself the GREEN ARROW.  But he’s had a lot on his plate:  Dad was part of a huge conspiracy to destroy the Glades, had an affair from a woman FROM the Glades, had a kid out of THAT, killed the crew member, and burdens Ollie with saving Star City.  On top of that, his Mom gets killed, finds out that his sister is the daughter of one of this enemies, finds out that he has ANOTHER sister, and the man has been a mess.  All of that crap stew has now bubbled to the surface, and it’s caused him to be a bit near sighted at times, as he was in the beginning.  This is where Tommy…his best friend…was a good use of.  Even if he’s in spirit only, it served the purpose well.  Tommy is there as Ollie’s conscience.  The one guy who’s making Ollie face the crap that he’s seen and dealt with.  To show him that he’s keeping the cycle of garbage that his PARENTS (because, yes, Moira does NOT receive a get-out-of-jail free card here, either…I’m just sayin’!), have created, and look at what it’s caused:  Ollie to become a vigilante, his sister to become a terrorist and an assassin, another sister to become the heir to a version of Ra’s al Ghul, the deaths of BOTH the original Laurel Lance AND Tommy himself.  Plus, he’s lost his son, and he’s got a child on the way.  At some point, Ollie has to face these demons down, and break the cycle.  Whether he does or not, and convince Emiko of the same remains to be seen.  But if that is the case, and Ollie DOES have his little “breakthrough”…can he save Emiko from the same fate, or is she too far gone?

The team’s squabbling in the wake of them being exposed for lying to the police threw a monkey wrench into their future…and the first one to panic was Dinah.  She’s proud to be a cop, and while she works OUTSIDE the law as Black Canary, she STILL respects the system, and looks to uphold it.  What she did in aiding in the cover up for Roy irks her to no end.  Later on, we see how much a burden it is on Roy, and he’s willing to bite the bullet and face the music, but Dinah understands how much this team means to her, and she won’t let Roy make the ultimate sacrifice for their sake.

William and Felicity’s blow up was bound to happen at some point.  And it needed to be addressed, because it was looming just under the surface, and everytime he wanted to help, she’d refuse.  Felicity in THIS future timeline seems to have forgotten that her kids aren’t kids anymore.  And she needs to let them help.  Because they’re going to do it whether she likes it or not.  Of course, it has disasterous consequences, but she couldn’t honestly stop them.  And hey…who here thought that the person who sold the ARCHER Program to Galaxy One was Alena?  I did.  Go back a couple of episodes when Felicity had just erased the program, and Alena made a backup?  Uh huh…gold star for you on that one.  But it seems she did what SHE did to save those SHE loved….could that be Felicity?  Guess we’ll find out in the finale.

Either way, we got some heavy drama in this episode, and it sets us up for the final showdown between Team Arrow and the Ninth Circle.  And will this exonerate the vigilantes?  And if not…what will that mean for anyone ELSE with a hood or a cape visiting Star City?  I wonder about that.  Would the SCPD be quick to arrest the Flash for racing over the city borders?  I’m curious about the ripple effect of what’s happening in Star City having an effect either in Gotham or even Central City?

Alright, kids…that does it for episode 21.  Next week---we (hopefully) get all our questions answered, and get some ass-kickin’ action as well.  Please do NOT forget to drop a comment, and subscribe if you have not done so already.

Until next week’s season finale---keep your sights on the bullseye!.

DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - Season 4.14

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW – SEASON 4, EP. 14:  “Nip/Stuck”

Things have actually gotten VERY serious…and very WEIRD, for the Legends as their Magical Mystical Tour is coming to an end.  Neron has amped up his plans, now possessing Ray, a dragon egg, and Gary with his possessed nipple.  Yep…just another day at the Time Bureau….right?

We open up around the Donner Pass during the Ice Age, as Constantine wakes up, finding out he’s been nabbed by Neron, who is still in possession of Ray Palmer’s body.  He’s looking to convince John to open up a door way to Hell, and keep it open, so that he can release his beloved Tabitha.  John tells him to stick it, and Neron laughs---he’ll get his way.  Meanwhile, Gary is back at the Bureau handling affairs.
While Gary is doing HIS thing, we see Ava giving paperwork to Norah…since she can’t “officially” join the team and look for Ray until she’s filled out this paperwork, and gotten “legal”.  Ava leaves her to it, walks into her office, and sees Gary sitting at her desk, very confident and, if we might say, arrogant.

While on the Waverider, the team is putting their heads together to try and figure out just where Neron has taken Ray and John.  They’re not having any luck.

When next we see Ava back at the Bureau, she says that it’s time for Performance Reviews, and she says Gary will be conducting them.  Mona is very suspicious about Ava’s behavior.  Especially when she says “Gary is the man we all need”.

Neron begins to taunt John some more, by threatening to slit Ray’s throat, John uses his magic to stop it.  Neron is trying to get John to use his powers in a different way.

Zari and Nate are in the lab on the ship, keeping tabs on the dragon egg and keeping it safe.  They actually nickname is “Wexy”.  Just then, Gidoen manages to get a bead on John through his magical signature, and the team is off to the past to track him down.  But they also know they have to be wary about Neron, and what to do with Ray, who’s possessed by him.  They arrive, but Neron has been expecting them.  John orders them to blast him, but Sara hesitates, knowing that if she does, she destroys Ray.  Nate and a couple of the others try to dissuade Sara from doing so, when Mick tells Gideon to fire, which she does.  Neron grabs John and teleports out of the way just in time for the shot to miss, but it creates an avalanche that buries the Waverider.  Now trapped, Sara tries to hail the Bureau to get help from Ava, but Ava passes by the distress signal back at the Bureau, and presses the ignore button, as the “Performance Reviews” continue under Gary’s watch.  Back on the ship, and argument breaks out between Nate and Mick, with Mick saying that there was no time for hesitation, and made the tough call no one else would.  Sara is also pissed off with him about it, and the two argue about Mick’s conduct.  The argument doesn’t end well, as both storm off in different directions.

Neron and John wind up in the Medieval past, as he tries to convince John that he can use his powers to do what he asks….to keep the portal open long enough to bring Tabitha out of Hell.  Neron has managed to bring John to one of his ancestors, who was King at this point in time.

Back at the Bureau, Mona has urged Norah to find out what Gary’s up to…she’s finding these whole “Performance Reviews” weird at this point in time…especially since EVERYONE who’s had one has said that “Gary is the only guy we need”.

In the wake of the blow up between Sara and Mick, both don’t pull punches about their activities OUTSIDE the team, and hit below the belt.  Sara just gives up, and says that if Mick wants to be in charge, fine by her., and she storms off.

We arrive in Stonehenge in the year 99 BCE, where John’s ancestor talks of vanquishing evil beings and people.  Neron goads John by telling him that his ancestor influences the people, and doesn’t care if the being is innocent or not, that the fear he instills in his people give him power.  John replies that if the creature is bound for Hell, it’s because it IS evil, and John’s ancestor isn’t wrong.  Neron then asks him does that mean that Dez, Ray, and Tabitha DESERVE to be in Hell?  John sees that his ancestor is about to kill an innocent beast.

We return to the Bureau, where the Performance Reviews has seemed to hypnotize the entire staff, and it’s got Mona’s nose on high alert.  Norah is hunting around, seeing just what in the hell is going on, while Mona almost gets caught snooping through the database to see what’s going on as well.  They try to connect with the Waverider, and find themselves unable to.

Nate and Zari continue to play den parents to the dragon egg.  They talk about all the fun stuff they CAN’T do because of what’s going on, but everyone ELSE has had their fun.  It’s not long before both get hot and bothered, and end up doing the Waverider Mambo.

We see Mick stroll in and do what he can to mend the bridge between him and Sara.  However, just before any formal apology can be made, the ACTUAL Mick shows up, and calls Charlie out for trying to bait the both of them.  Charlie tells them to put aside their differences because Ray, John, and the rest of the team depend on it.

Once more to the Bureau, and we see Mona explaining to Norah on how to trap Gary, and get to the bottom of this little mystery.  She is showing Norah about trapping him in one of the prison cells, when Norah actually shuts her in it, telling her that Gary is all the man they need---Gary got to her as well.

To Stonehenge again, where Neron asks what John’s going to do, when John makes a fateful play, and exposes himself to his ancestor.  And, as much as he tries to explain to his ancestor what’s going on, and there’s a REAL evil for him to stop…he gets knocked out by his ancestor for his troubles.  Turns out, he’s now going to be demon bait in Hell along with the innocent creature.

Sara and Mick rummage through Ray’s quarters, in order to try and find an answer as to how to find him.  They talk about the team, and how it’s changed from the beginning when Rip pulled the team together.  They stumble upon Ray’s Survival Guide, with the note “Enjoy Each Other”.  Both say, what the hell, tell Gideon to fire up all the power…if they’re gonna go out…have a damn party for Ray’s sake.

Neron continues to needle John, while he’s captive with the creature.  Neron asks him if he’s ready for Hell, and John reminds him he’s got no fear of it, considering he figured he’d wind up there someday regardless.

Mona, having been trapped inside the cell, feels afraid and alone, when her hand acts up, and her wolf side comes out, scratching on the wall that she’s NOT alone.

John explains his fears that while HE is not afraid to spend eternity in Hell…it’s the likes of Astrid, Ray, and the others that will burn WITH him, because he couldn’t SAVE them.  The monster heals what wounds he has, and asks why.  The beast doesn’t answer.  Just then, he and the monster are hauled before his ancestor, as his ancestor uses his words of fear, to draw out the fear and anger of the crowd in order to feed his power, and open up the portal to Hell.

At the Bureau, Mona is taken out of her cell, and brought before Gary for her review.  Once there, Gary tells her what a bad employee she’s been, and that she’s been slipping.  He then exposes his possessed nipple to show a demon eye in it, freaking Mona out.  At first, she resisted using her powers, trying to hold the wolf at bay, but she couldn’t any longer.

We are back aboard the Waverider, where the team is at a table, playing one of Ray’s games, and enjoying each other’s company, as they prepare to have the last of their power and oxygen used up, and die.  However, Gideon informs them that the power usage has melted the ice, and it gives the team new life, as they prepare to break free.

John’s ancestor has used the power of the magical sword to open a portal to Hell, and banish both him and the creature to it. However, John realizes that the only option he has, is to use his power to stop his ancestor, which he does.  Neron says now he can use his magic to open the portal and allow Tabitha to return.  John has other ideas, and he picks up his ancestor’s sword, and they begin to do battle.

The team has managed to get the ship ready to blast out of the ice, and does so, also making sure they figure out just where Neron and John went…off they go!

As Gary and his demon nipple are running from Mona’s wolf-side, he begs for help as Ava and Norah storm in, ready to take her down.  However, wolfie manages to conk the two of them into each other, and down they go.  Wolfie then goes after Gary’s nipple to destroy it.  Ava and Norah manage to snap out of the trance.

John and Neron continue the battle when the Waverider shows up just as he has Neron dead to rights.  John then makes a fateful call, and falls into the portal to Hell in order to save Ray.  Just then, Tabitha appears.  Turns out, Tabitha is the Fairy Godmother!  Neron asks her if she’s ready for a new body, and she says yes, and they teleport out.  They reappear at the Bureau, where Gary is still on the run from Wolfie, begging them to help him.  Neron neutralizes Mona’s powers, returning her to normal.  They manage to capture her, as Norah gives chase.  Ava meets up with the team to learn about Ray and John.

We see the end of the episode where John climbs out of a trash can in  some dingy looking city.  He looks around, says “Bollocks”, as he grabs a cigarette, and begins his hunt for Ray…he’s in Hell.

_____________________________________________

What can I say?  We get a little bit of everything with this show.  We got action, drama, and outright silliness that makes “Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew” look like an issue of the Justice League.  The story has picked up pace, has a bit more drama woven in, and a good build up to a season finale where who KNOWS what will happen.

It’s come to my attention from having watched this season unfold, that it’s not so much about the team, and the various magical encounters they’ve had during this season, but the underlying tone of this kind of being a John Constantine story.  John’s issues have stemmed from last season with his failures of saving Norah Dhark, and the consequences of THAT have been carried over into THIS season, where Neron has beome the big baddie, having been taunting John, haunting his nightmares, possessing his boyfriend, and now taking over Ray Palmer.  It seems that all of John’s gruff, tough guy act has bitten him in the ass, caught up to him, and he is now on his redemption journey.  It’s been brilliant being able to give his story some depth and history, while being implemented into the insanity that is THIS crew of misfits.  It’s made for some solid storytelling, as well as some fun moments with the limey bastard.  But we are now finally seeing what good John can ACTUALLY do when he’s pressed up against it.  His choice to head into Hell to say Ray is heroic…for a man who refuses to believe himself one.  Matt Ryan has got this chap just right….and I enjoy it!

The team shows how dysfunctional it is, what with the various personalities, and those personalities clashing…A LOT.  This episode not only brings that to the forefront…especially with two of the three original members of the team---Sara and Mick---but it shows how the team AND its mission has grown in the last 4  years since Rip Hunter brought them together.  Now, here they are…a dysfunctional family.  But that is what the essence of Ray Palmer has been for this team—he’s been the glue to keep the team…and in its own wacky way…a family, together.

Say what you will about Mona…love the girl or find her annoying as hell…but she provides not only solid comic relief…she has also added to the team’s depth in being able to solve problems.  She’s ditzy, eccentric, and now has lycanthropy like powers, but she’s doing what she can to fit in.  Honestly, she can’t be any MORE annoying than, say, Gary---who’s magic nipple managed to hypnotize EVERYONE in the building…INCLUDING Norah.  For someone with magical powers herself…you’d think she’d have been able to resist Gary.  Guess not.

What can we expect from the final two episodes?  More magic, more mirth, more mayhem, and more bad one liners.  But hey…as I have stated countless times before---it’s the one DC show that doesn’t overdose on the drama to the point it’s stifling, nor does it really fall back on plot devices that tend to hinder other shows.  It’s the wink of the proverbial eye at the audience.  Out of all the shows in the CW’s lineup of DC characters---it’s the one show that actually FEELS like a comic book.  It’s got a story, tends to be a tad over the top, but doesn’t make us wretch or regret we saw it…it’s a good time.  And that’s all we can ask…right?

Okay, I know these reviews are LATER than what I wanted, but you’re getting them regardless!  Two more coming your way ASAP, as we wrap up the week, and get ready for the final stretch of this show and SUPERGIRL, while we send the Emerald Archer and the Scarlet Speedster off for the summer this coming week.  Please be sure to subscribe and leave a comment.  I’d love to hear from you guys!

Until next time…

SUPERGIRL - Season 4.20

SUPERGIRL – SEASON 4, EP. 20:  “Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?”

We’re closing in on the end of the season, and the Girl of Steel is hard pressed to clear her name, as well as stop Lex Luthor from completeing one of his most nefarious plots ever.  As we’ve seen more of his plans unveiled, Kara and Lena head to Kaznia to see what’s going on there, meanwhile, Dreamer, Brainy, and the team try to hold off the Sons of Liberty.

Kara and Lena are headed to Kaznia, and Kara’s not comfortable flying on a jet (wonder why), and she says that Lena doesn’t have to go with her, but Lena insists---wanting to confront Lex herself.

Alex and Kelly are out for a run, with Martial Law in place, Alex has nothing to do.  They chat about that, and then Alex gets a call from the adoption agency.  She’s going to be a Mom!

We see the funeral for Lockwood’s wife.  George is giving a speech.  Says he misses his mom.  Afterwards, Lockwood arrives at the DEO, and starts taking over and demanding they find Dreamer, finding the alien who killed his wife (the alien Mom from last episode whose husband was led away by the SOL), and figuring out how James Olsen got super powers.  Haley isn’t there, so Lockwood is making demands.

James, Brainy, and Nia are at the Fortress of Solitude, testing his powers, when Brainy gets a call from the DEO, informing him that Lockwood is there.  Haley is in DC trying to get Lockwood’s clearance revoked.  He takes off to see what’s going on.

Kara and Lena are on the plane when it’s struck by purple lightning.  Lena goes to try and land the plane, and Lena struggles to get it working again to land right.  She manages to get it to land, and goes to check on Kara…who feigns fainting.  Someone expected their arrival.

Kaznia, where Lena and Kara find out that Lex has an army behind him.  They find a lab, where they see pods.  They figure out that the equipment as Amertek on them.  They also find out that there are some files left behind, so they dig in to reading them.

Alex and Kelly talk about the baby about to be born that she will adopt.  She’s frantic because she only has 12 hours to decide if she wants to be a Mom.  Kelly is trying to reassure Alex that she can do this.  Alex really feels she needs to talk to Kara, but Kelly fills in for her.  She helps Alex figure it out.

Lockwood’s stooge informs him that Lena Luthor had been working with the DEO.  Lockwood wonders why, and they decide to check her lab.  Brainy goes to stop them, but they decide to enter anyway.

Lena and Kara discover that Lex was spying on the DEO, and that he set up the attack on the carnival last year.  He’s also been experimenting on aliens.  They hear a noise, and they go to check it out, opening a door to reveal….Eve Tessmacher.  She seems happy to have been found.  Lena and Kara are confused.
They ask Eve where Lex is, and she won’t budge.  She says she likes Lena and Kara, but she’s always going to be on Lex’s side.

Alex and Kelly chat some more about the baby.  The mother is still in labor, and doesn’t want to see Alex until AFTER the baby is born.  Alex is showing all the signs of new mother panic, and Kelly is trying to give her confidence that it will be okay.

Kara and Lena continue to talk to Eve, but she seems sketchy.  She says Lex keeps his plans compartmentalized.  Kara then notices claw marks on the floor, and they go to follow where they go.

Lockwood’s son George shows up, wondering where his Dad is, and missing his Mom.  Lockwood is preoccupied in finding where the alien who killer her is.  As well as figuring out what Lena’s research is.

More Alex and Kelly.   Alex talks about her Mom inspiring her to being a better person, she now feels the weight of what being a mother is going to be about.  Kelly reminds her how she’s been there for everyone, and that she won’t fail as a mother.

Kara, Lena, and Eve come across Lex’s lab, where they find Kryptonite and Harun-El.  They figure out Kaznia is looking to invade America.  Eve says that’s the plan, and that Lex has a tank.  Eve starts freaking out.  They see the Red Daughter on a screen Kara activates.  Eve calls her by that name.

Alex and Kelly are looking at strollers when a phone call comes in.  It’s not good news.  It turns out the grandparents talked to a priest, and convinced their granddaughter to keep the child.  No adoption for Alex.  She’s heartbroken.

Kara and Lena figure out that the Red Daughter is not a clone, but she’s a blank slate controlled by Lex.  Kara feels that there’s still some bit of Supergirl in here.  When they ask Eve if she’s with Lex, the REAL Eve shows up, and says she is.  She then sets off a bomb to explode, trapping Kara and Lena as she makes her escape.

At the DEO, Brainy explains that James was giving a calculated amount to the Harun-El to save his life, and as he explains that to Lockwood, an agent of the DEO informs him of his wife’s killer’s location.  He orders a DEO team to go out to grab her.  He’s about ready to take the serum.

Lena and Kara are looking for an escape, and they find out a way through the air duct.  Kara hesitates, saying she forgot her tape recorder.  She goes back to the lab, and with a bit of heat vision, destroys it.

Lockwood discovers the location of the woman who killed his wife, and they capture her.  He invades their hideout, and orders them all captured.  When Brainy tries to reason with them, he says they were harboring a criminal.

Kara discovers the DEO prisoner transfers, who were signed by Sara Locker, who is working with Lex.  Lena sees Eve, and gives chase.

Outside of the sanctuary, Lockwood is called about by Dreamer.  He wants them arrested.

Lena catches up to Eve, but finds out Eve has powers.  Supergirl appears, and takes Eve down as more of her duplicates appear.

Lockwood is about to have the DEO arrest Dreamer, when Brainy says that Lockwood is violating the Constitution.  He tells them to follow their hearts, and they stand down.  Dreamer smiles at him, but as he turns around and Lockwood injects himself with the Harun-El.  He goes to attack Dreamer.

Kara continues to battle Eve, and more of her pop up.  She then disposes of them.  Eve than takes down Eve one last time.  She then goes to get Kara.

J’Onn finally shows up just as Lockwood goes to destroy Dreamer.  He and James battle, and J’Onn assures him that while Lockwood is the law, regimes change.  James tells J’Onn to toss Lockwood into the tanker.  He does after Lockwood misses, and the tanker explodes.  J’Onn then orders everyone to get the aliens to safety.

Lena finds Kara, and they make their way back to the jet, when Eve disappears.  They figure that the real Eve was probably never there.  They take off.

The flames rise higher from the tanker, and Lockwood emerges from it.

On the flight back home, Kara is pondering what happened, and Lena explains that she did what she did because she didn’t want to lose her friend, and see her get hurt.  Kara is ready to say that she’s Supergirl, but Lena goes on to say she trusted Eve, and she lied to her, and betrayed her.  She doesn’t think she can handle that.  So, Kara decides to not tell her after all, for fear of losing her friend.

Alex and Kelly talk some more about Alex’s loss, and how her relationship with Maggie ended over the decision to have kids.  Kelly talks about her own relationship with a woman…a fellow soldier, who ended up dying before they could come out as a couple.  She says that her girlfriend told her that she would find someone else to love should she be gone…Kelly says that while this is a deep wound for Alex, she will get another chance.

George and Lockwood talk, and George now realizes that his father’s cause was nothing more than a selfish crusade, as much as Lockwood tries to convince him otherwise.  George says that because of this cause, HE is responsible for his mother’s death.

Kara and James talk about the Red Daughter, and she wonders what would’ve happened if SHE had landed there, the things that could’ve happened.  James asks her why she didn’t tell Lena, and she says that because of all the people around her have betrayed her.  She says that once she captures Lex, she will tell Lena the truth.

Kara heads to the White House to inform President Baker that the country is in danger, and she says that Lex is working with one of her staff, and that she felt it was a good idea that she warn the President by bringing him the information.  He asks her if anyone has seen this info, and she says no.  He then presses a button under his desk, says she did the right thing, and next thing we see, she is captured by the secret servicemen and has a hood put over her head.

______________________________________________

Another amazing episode in the books, and now the plan has been expose to us to see, but there seems to be a couple of more twists and turns before we get to the season finale.

Eve Tessmacher.  Well.  Was she a clone, did she have superpowers…what’s the deal with this woman?  She’s a slippery little wench, but she does her job well.  Her loyalty and love for Lex is unwavering, despite Lena telling her that Lex only loves ONE person---himself.  But whatever she is---or was---one thing is for certain:  You can’t BUY that kind of loyalty.  Seems that Lex is yet still a step ahead of our team, but they ARE gaining ground.  And we have two more episodes to see whether or not they catch up to him.

Kara and Lena now realize that the Red Daughter exists, and know SHE was the one who attacked the White House, and with the information obtained from the lab, they know that Lex has an informant on the inside.  Unfortunately, however, it seems there’s more to President Baker as well….as in…maybe HE is another Luthor stooge?  I have FELT through most of this season since his first appearance, that there was something OFF about him---and I’ve NO DOUBT I’m right.  His capturing of Kara at the end of the episode is just proof in the pudding.  I will be REAL interested in uncovering HIS dirty little secret.

Alex got to have down time this episode, and it was an emotional rollercoaster for her.  From having fears to being a new mother, to not even getting to be a mother at all, we see Alex’s fears and thoughts about what being a mother is all about.  Thankfully, Kelly relates her own experiences to her, and gives Alex a shoulder to lean on that is NOT Kara.  The relationship is blooming.

Kara and Lena.  They work well as a team, and credit Kara for keeping Supergirl under wraps for the most part of this investigation.  But it’s also painful to watch two close friends rely and tell each other MOST things…but one who HAS to keep a secret…a BIG ONE at that…for the sake of said friendship.  I fear the fallout once Lena finds out Kara is Supergirl.  That betrayal may send Lena down a dark path.

Lockwood’s demons have come home to roost.  With the death of his wife at the hands of the alien mother from the previous episode, and the obsession with his cause, he has now shown that the cause was more worth the price he paid---his wife and his son’s love.  Credit to George for finally seeing the light, and realizing that this cause of his father’s isn’t HIS cause.  What this will do to Lockwood in the final two episodes will be interesting.

Credit to Brainy for holding down the fort, and when push came to shove with Lockwood ordering the DEO to arrest Dreamer…he managed to appeal to their basic humanity.  Add in another credit for J’Onn FINALLY joining the fight and being the Martian Manhunter we all know and love.  James ALSO refused to be out of the fight, so it looks like the Super Friends are about ready to reunite for one last hoedown with a powered up Lockwood, the Sons of Liberty, the Kaznian Army, the Red Daughter, and Lex himself.  This season finale is proving to be must-see TV.  I can’t wait!  It’s been a somewhat slow season, but this 3rd act has been spectacular, so the season is finishing with a flourish.

That’s all for this week, and I look forward to you guys subscribing and leaving a comment.  I appreciate you all being here.  And hey….pass the good word around, will ya?

Until next week….Up, up, and away!

THE FLASH - Season 5.20

THE FLASH – SEASON 5, EP. 20:  “Gone Rogue”

The Scarlet Speedster’s up against the wall in this episode as he faces one of the most dangerous foes he’s ever come across in his career:  his own daughter!  What happens when you have an angry woman with Daddy issues suddenly decide to join the other side?  Let’s find out.

We see Nora racing through an architectural company called G. Simone and Associates, and disables some of their tech in order to obtain some blueprints.  She asks Gideon for help with the blueprints, and Gideon asks her if she wants Barry’s help, and Nora says no.

Barry has placed tachyon meters around the city in order to be able to track Nora should she start racing around, and be able to get a bead on her.  They hope to be able to find her before she goes off.  We see Caitlin still mourning the loss of her own father, and the team understands if she decides to sit this one out.  She says she’s good.  Sherloque also decides to stick around, feeling guilty for exposing Nora in the first place, and putting these wheels in motion.  As they go to work, Ralph shows up with Cisco, who gives him back the Book of Ralph.  Ralph offers it to Sherloque in his efforts with Irene Adler.

Barry, Joe, and Iris are at the G. Simone and Associates building, investigating a burglary there last night.  They notice all the computer mainframes have been fried, and try to figure out what it would take to fry them.  Iris brings up the idea of a bolt of lightning, and they realize it was Nora who stole the plans.  What they’re sure of, they don’t know.  But what they find out is that Nora is using negative tachyons in order to speed around town.  Iris figures out that Thawne had taught her how to do that.

We see a warehouse where Weather Witch, Bug-Eyed Bandit, and Ragdoll were given invites for a job…their invitee is Nora.  Nora plans on robbing the McCulloch Industries building, in order to obtain a weapon that can stop metatech.  But they need to get to The Flash to do it.

Caitlin and Ralph are following up on a lead about Cicada’s whereabouts, and what she wants to do with the Atomizer that was stolen from her mother’s lab the previous week.  Ralph asks about Killer Frost, but Caitlin said that even Killer Frost is in mourning right now, and isn’t interested in coming out to play.

Iris and Cecile are at her office talking about what Nora’s plans are with McCulloch Industries.  They decide that they’re going to do some old fashioned legwork to find out.

Back at STAR Labs, the team gets a hit on Nora, and Barry goes to meet her in order to reason with her.  Meanwhile, Cisco and Sherloque go to meet him to be at the ready, and they’re captured in an elevator by Ragdoll.  As Barry tries to reason with Nora, she becomes enraged, her eyes glow red, and she attacks, knocking him out.  Nora steals a hypnotizer, and takes off.  Afterwards, Barry informs Iris and Cecile what happned.

Nora has Cisco and Sherloque captured and Cisco bound with meta cuffs.  She wants him to be able to fix the cellphone to tap into the hypnotizer.  At first he laughs, but when she threatens him the way Eobard did years ago, he complies.

Back up north, Caitlin and Ralph look for clues at the Tannenhauser site, while talking about love and relationships.  It’s there that Caitlin asks why Ralph is willing to help Cisco and Sherloque, but not find love himself.  Ralph says it’s not in the cards for him.  Caitlin says he’s a great guy, and love is out there for him.  But he gets wires crossed, and thinks she’s coming on to him.  She rebuffs him quickly, and they then discover the fridge that Cisco altered to keep his samples.  They both realize that Cicada took off with the samples.

While Cisco is working on the phone, he and Sherloque talk about their love lives.  Sherloque says his issues with Irene are that he’s never been able to make relationships work…and revels to Cisco she’s a meta human.  He figures out that Cisco doesn’t want to be Vibe anymore, and it’s not something he can talk about with Camille.

Barry, Iris, Joe, and Ceclie are at Iris’ office, discussing what’s going on, and figuring out what Nora’s plan is regarding McCulloch Industries.  They find out about a weapon McCulloch is developing (the gun that destroys meta tech), and Barry says that Nora must be brought down, daughter or not.  Iris and him continue to argue about her, and what Iris saw when she was in the future.  She tells Barry that maybe Thawne CAN be redeemed.  Because he told Iris that if they don’t solve this as a FAMILY, all is lost.

Weather Witch and Nora talk about the plant, and disappointment with their fathers.  They are a lot alike, in that they felt rejected by the fathers they had.  Cisco eventually programs the phone.  And to ensure they can’t be stopped, Nora says for Bug-Eyed Bandit to hypnotize them in order to keep them at bay while they invade McCulloch.

Barry is feeling dejected and frustrated when Joe sits down to have a chat with him.  Barry feels that all he’s done since the minute Nora showed up is reject her, and push her away.  Joe understands where Barry is coming from, and that Barry didn’t even refer to Joe as his Dad until about a few years ago.  He does what he can to comfort Barry, and let him know that he understands, but that he’s got to stop beating himself up, and learn to trust his daughter.

At McCulloch Industries, the Rogues and Nora manage to sneak in, and get their tour of the facility.  Once in, they take out the security that’s with them, and they go to work.  What they’re looking for is in a room that has power dampeners in there, and the only way through is inside a pipe, which Ragdoll does easily.  Once in, they handle the power dampener, and Nora tells them to grab the guns.  But the Rogues decide to turn on her, and cut her out of the deal.  On a security camera they manage to hack, they address Central City, and say that things will get ugly unless The Flash himself shows up and reveals his identity.

With all this happening, the cellphone Cisco rigged only had a limited range, so once the Rogues and Nora got out of range, Cisco and Sherloque managed to get free.

The Flash shows up, and says that he will reveal his identity.  But somethings….off about him.  Turns out, it’s Sherloque as a hologram back at STAR Labs, and Cicso is telling him to stick to the plan.  Then, the armed guards around the Flash turn out to be the REAL Flash, Iris, and Joe.  A fight begins, and Joe and Iris tackle Ragdoll, as Flash and Nora have to deal with Weather Witch and the Bandit.  Ragdoll manages to get ahold of Joe, but Iris punches him out.  Joe asks who that is, and Iris tells him she’ll inform him later.  Cisco manages to disable Bug-Eyed Bandit’s electronic bugs, just long enough for Nora and Flash’s powers to come back, and they wrap everything up.

Barry, Iris, and Nora talk.  Barry apologizes to Nora for how he acted, and that she should’ve trusted her more, and not push her away.  She says her plan was to use the set up to get the gun, because she knows that it can be the only way to destroy Cicada’s dagger.  She doesn’t want to feel how she felt again, and she said that Eobard had that plan.  Barry says it’s not the best idea, but it’s the only one they got.

Just then, Caitlin and Ralph rejoin the gang, saying that Cicada made off with Cisco’s cure samples.  Cisco corrects her and says those were failed ones…and if she uses them, she’s going to kill every metahuman in the city.

We finally see see Grace mixing up the serum in order to use it in the Atomizer, while watching over her younger self, singing a song, all the while hearing Orlen in her ear.

______________________________________________

This was yet another solid episode of The Fastest Man Alive….but I DID have ONE disappointment with it:  I wish there had could’ve been MORE with Nora’s anger, and Barry having to be the one to reason with her.  But for all intents and purposes, we now know the reason WHY Nora went rogue, and why she HAD to get back to the past to stop Cicada.  This apparently has to be done as a COMPLETE family unit…according to Eobard, there is NO other way.

I will say this….Nora did a fairly good job of using her anger to set things in motion, and played her part fairly well…but she still showed cracks in the armor.  Especially when it came to her Dad.  Because no matter HOW mad Nora was at Barry---she still LOVES him immensely.  She wants to make him PROUD, and if that meant giving the impression of going Rogue in order to stop a bigger threat, she’d do it.  It took her nearly losing herself for Barry to understand…and for Barry to see just how much he’s really pushed her away to get it, but it worked out.  You gotta give the little Spitfire credit…and that’s pretty Shway.

Just to show you how awesome it is to have Joe back in the fold….his pep talks with Barry are fantastic.  THAT is a man very wise beyond his years.  He KNEW that there was more going on with Nora than just being mad at Barry.  He trusted his granddaughter, and it paid off.  And if there’s ONE guy who can honestly beat some sense into Barry when he needs it---it’s Joe.  Plus, it was funny when Joe had to tangle with Ragdoll, having not seen him before because he was gone at the time.

We got some bonding between Caitlin and Ralph….with some mixed signals.  But it was nice to see Caitlin reach out and let Ralph know he’s a catch…even if he’s NOT her type.  But this also gives us a prelude to one Sue Dearbon hopefully soon.  She’s LONG OVERDUE, people!  Also, Sherloque and Cisco waxing about their love lives, and how Cisco is ready to give up being Vibe, whereas, Sherloque confessing to Irene that he knows she’s a meta is some eggshell walking terrain they’re going to have to cover soon.

Nora’s bonding with Weather Witch.  These two women would be great friends in another life, I think.  Both have had absentee fathers in their lives (though in Nora’s case, it wasn’t completely by design, just unfortunate circumstance).  They understand each other, but in the end….Weather Witch DID inherit her father’s criminal mind…and heart.  And it’s the one thing that almost led Nora to her downfall.  Was nice to see Bug-Eyed Bandit again…was wondering how much time she served before being broken out of prison.

We now now Grace’s big plan---and maaaaaan, it ain’t good!

Easter Egg of the week:  McCulloch Industries and G. Simone & Associates.  For all of you fanatics:  McCulloch is the last name of the CURRENT man running around calling himself Mirror Master:  Ewan McCulloch is a former drug using criminal that somehow managed to nab Sam Scudder’s old gear.  As for G. Simone & Associates….G. Simone is Gail Simone, who has written many a DC hero, and was primarily responsible for BIRDS OF PREY.

Okay, gang, that’s it for this edition.  Subscribe, pass it around, and leave a comment!  Love to hear from ya!

Until next week….keep on running!

COMIC BOOK OF THE WEEK

COMIC BOOK OF THE WEEK Hello, True Believers (thanks, Stan!)!  Once again, our comic shop is open, and THIS week, we go into our Marvel bin ...
